As a shutterbug enthusiast, I always root for the product’s model rather than the manufacturer. Unlike many people who favours into ‘brand names’ (mostly Canon and Nikon zealots) I usually look up the specs of the digital camera. I have three digital cameras – all of different manufacturers and different megapixel resolutions. Seeing that Nikon and Canon are the top two leading the great race, I’m thinking that my next digicam purchase will have to be a Canon one since I don’t own any of Canon’s; my first digicam is a Nikon Coolpix 2100 (2-mp). Having already own a great digicam, a Fujifilm F31fd (which I purchased 2yrs. ago) I thought that would be the last time and that I’ll never buy another one again; after all it’s not about the
megapixels which I’ve learned to believe. That’s why it’s the specs that matter to me, not the pixel count or brand name. But I’ve been thinking of upgrading for a period of time now. I’m in no hurry to do so. As this year’s
PMA just around the corner, camera manufacturers starts to show-off their new (and minor upgrades to current models) respective products here and there. Last year I wanted to get the Canon Powershot SD850 especially when they had it up on sale during the Winter holidays. But I didn’t. That’s cause’ I know there will be new things to come in 2008. Which did yesterday and today.
There are several new products mentioned in there all of whom are showcased from different manufacturers. But Canon’s A590 and SD1100 caught my eye. Upon reading their designated specs, there’s little-to-none dissappointment seeing Canon’s reputation to why they are one of the top two who holds the lead.
What I like about the A590 are: full manual controls and optical stabilization. What I don’t like about the A590 is, it’s very bulky; I’m not a big fan of bulkiness.
What I like about the SD1100 is it’s new compact design. Unlike the previous incarnations of the SD series (SD700-SD950) this new built is even slimmer making it more in the aspects of the SD750/SD1000, now equipped with an O.I.S.
What I’d like to know: Will these new Canon killer apps have good (enough) high ISO ratings in terms of low-light scenarios? Cause’ Fujifilm’s F30/F31fd/F40fd (screw the F50fd) models have been the only compact point-and-shoot digital cameras in this league that proved to have less image noise at high ISO settings – a feat only high-end equipments in the likes of DSLRs are capable of producing at an acceptable (if not great) quality. I do not think I’ll be getting a new digicam this year though, seeing these new models of this year can take a chunk out of your bank account on a single purchase alone. Next year? Maybe… (money doesn’t grow on trees)

Saw a footage (@youtube) of Resident Evil 5 the other day. I must say, I regret not getting a PS3 or 360 during last year’s Boxing Day sale lol. I didn’t bother spending over $500 for neither since there aren’t many games that interests me till today. But after seeing Capcom’s realistic approach on RE5, it’s tempting. Judging from the official trailer, the enemies/zombies aren’t anything like from the previous Resident Evil predecessors. Mainly, they’re no longer the slow-assed pokes they used to be in which your chances of evading/escaping is good enough for you not to use a healing item after just a few attacks. Ever seen the 2004 remake of George A. Romero’s, Dawn Of the Dead, where zombies can sprint and think? Cause’ that’s exactly what the game trailer showed in the actual gameplay. Let’s see..if I were to play this game, I’d be running like hell instead of looking back to shoot one of these motherf[beep]kers down than suffer a fate reminiscent to that of a fresh meat on sale at the local grocery store waiting to be ingested (metaphor: Game Over screen). They come in hordes and throw sharp objects at you as well eh. How many ammos can you load in a shotgun again? Well, maybe I’d take 3 or 5 of them down and then I’d dash Chris Redfield (protagonist of the game you control) as if he were in a track-and-field portion of the game to a safe haven; like on a rooftop and that would be a good time for a session of target practice on those pestering motherf[beep]kers from below.^_^
Anywho, I may not have any of the current 7th-gen consoles but my PS2 isn’t biting into the dust just yet. Still awaiting for, Samurai Shodown Anthology, for an undisclosed release date sometime this year. =) I don’t think I’m getting a new game system this year. I think I’ll wait till next year where the game library counts.

Radiohead, today, announced how their 7th studio album will be released for public and media consumption. Considering they don’t have a record label, many assumed they would distribute in some kind of online service such as Apple’s iTune’s.
Name your own price, or, don’t pay anything -that’s what is says on the band’s
official website posted by the multi-instrumentalist, Jonny. Only being distributed via their website (another) called,
In Rainbows, also the latest album’s title.
Coming from me, I love the idea how Radiohead proceeded with their decision. “Has there been any band/musician that has ever done this before?”, I ask you. You go to a fucking local music store and cash-in almost $20, only to find out there’s only 2 or 3 good tracks out of the whole 12. Just what the fuck is that?? In this way, Radiohead actually gives their listeners an actual preview (either you pay 1cent for every song or download free) how the entirety of the album is like. I liked their earlier works (1993-1997) than their post-OK Computer releases. Yet I have all their North American full-length CDs. Their fusion of alt-rock and electronica isn’t that bad as to what some whiners claim.
Whether I download the tracks for free or I pay for them is essentially the same. I get to hear them before I come to a decision (as in, support their hard work) as to how much overall should I pay for it. The only income they’d get the most out of is by touring; holding live shows from continents-to-continents. Which I should say is a lot considering they’re nothing like Hawthorne Heights (or whatever pretentious lyricism you listen to on the radio or see on the idiot box) or 50cent (or whatever pretentious rhymes you hear on the radio or music vids you watch). Every concert tickets they have is fuckin’ sold-out within 24hrs. or 48hrs. less. Yes, they are that awesome to many populace from around the world. :)

I got caught off-guard when my alternate blog took on a new setting in the likes of WordPress’. Frankly, I think my alternate blog’s coding is better than WordPress’. Sure, it may not be better or have certain things it lacks that WordPress has, but it’s just my own taste. I really like the old one than the new one. It’s alright nonetheless. Here isn’t so bad.
